Breaking: Lake Nona Announces New Water Sports Park
Lake Nona residents are getting the chance to splash into a new water sports park next summer. Water sports entrepreneur Kai Fusser and his business partner Real Bergevin are bringing some exciting activities to Lake Nona. Announced today, the Nona Adventure Park will feature the world’s first solar-powered water ski and wakeboard cable system. Cables suspended from towers will pull riders around the lake. This will propel riders at speeds of up to 36 miles per hour. There will be two courses, a 2,500 foot, six tower main track and a 320 foot, two tower beginner/intermediate track. Riders will be able to use a floating dock that will circle the park to return to the starting area if they fall in the middle of the course.
Another key attraction at the park will be the Inflatable Aqua Park. inspired by LEGO blocks, the aqua park will feature a modular series of interlocking climbing obstacles, pathways, slides, and trampolines, allowing endless fun. The first of it’s kind in the Central Florida region, the inflatable park is being manufactured by Witbit, the pioneers of the inflatable water park industry.
If guests prefer to stay dry, the 60-foot KristallTurm Climbing Tower might be just what they are looking for. Three 50-foot climbing walls, two 60-foot climbing ropes, and an array of climbing obstacles for all skill levels will greet intrepid climbers. With an area for children ages 5-10, even the youngest climbers can get a chance to reach for the sky.
For those who wish to stay on the ground, the Pro Shop will provide a seating area for spectating while enjoying an upscale cafe and WiFi.
Nona Adventure Park will be located in Adventure Lake, just south of the currently in-progress Laureate City Park (next to Laureate Park Elementary School). We’ll have more details in the December edition of Nonahood News.
